Acrylic Undercoat is a fast drying, odorless, waterborne acrylic primer for sheetrock and clear wood surfaces. Acrylic Undercoat may be used on previously painted finishes which have been lightly sanded. This primer is intended for interior use only. Acrylic Undercoat provides an ideal foundation for all Christopher Peacock Wall Emulsion paints.
New unpainted surfaces: After light sanding and surface cleaning, apply one coat of Acrylic Undercoat by brush, roller or spray. Pole-sand Undercoat with 220 grit sandpaper before application of finish paint.
Previously painted surfaces: Old finishes in poor condition, should be removed or sanded harshly before priming with Acrylic Undercoat. Previously painted surfaces must be free of dirt, grease or other contaminates which could interfere with adhesion. Sand Undercoat with 220 grit sandpaper before application of finish paint.
Acrylic Undercoat should be applied with synthetic brush, roller or sprayed. Apply smooth, even coats with minimal brushing or rolling. Do not apply at temperatures below 50 degrees Fahrenheit or above 80 degrees Fahrenheit, or when relative humidity exceeds 80%. Clean tools immediately after use with hot water. Apply without thinning under normal environmental conditions. If necessary, Acrylic Undercoat may be thinned slightly with water (maximum 3 ounces per EurogallonTM (2.5l). Stir well before use.
